Vehicle Damage Warnings
SPARK PLUG and SPARK PLUG WIRES
CAUTION: Spark plug wires must be connected to the proper ignition coil terminal. Mark spark plug wire locations before removing them.
CAUTION: Be sure to orient the spark plug boots so the spark plug wires do not contact the exhaust manifold shields or steering gear intermediate shaft. Wire contact can send voltage spikes to other electronic modules.
NOTE: Apply Silicone Dielectric Compound D7AZ-19A331-A or equivalent meeting Ford specification ESE-M1C171A to the inside of spark plug wire boots.
CAUTION: Proper installation of the ignition wires is critical to engine operation. If one spark plug wire is not properly installed at either the spark plug or the ignition coil, both spark plugs connected to the ignition coil may not activate under load.
