Disc Brakes
REMOVAL1. Raise and support the vehicle.
2. Remove the lug nuts and the wheel and tire assembly.
3. Remove the adjuster screw plug.
4. Turn the brake adjuster screw counterclockwise to pull the piston fully inward.
5. Remove the lower brake caliper bolt.
6. Pivot the rear disc brake caliper on the support bracket, and slide off of pin.
Calliper, Rear. M-Springs:
7. Remove the (A) brake pads and the two (B) M-springs.
Caliper, Rear. Anchor Bolts:
8. Remove the two bolts from the rear disc brake caliper anchor plate.
9. Remove the two rear disc brake rotor screws and remove the rotor.
10. Unstake the axle wheel hub retainer, remove and discard.
11. Remove the wheel hub.
INSTALLATION
1. Position the wheel hub onto the rear wheel spindle.
2. Install and tighten a new rear axle wheel hub retainer. Torque to 177-235 Nm (130-174 ft.lbs).
3. Stake the rear axle wheel hub retainer with a cape chisel. Stake depth should be at least 0.5mm (0.02 inch).
NOTES:
- Tighten brake rotor screws to 10-14 Nm (7.35-10.29 ft.lbs).
- Tighten adjuster screw plug to 12-16 Nm (9-12 ft.lbs).
- Tighten lower brake caliper bolt to 45-59 Nm (33-43 ft.lbs).
- Tighten the lug nuts in the specified sequence.
- Tighten the lug nuts to 89-117 Nm (66-86.7 ft.lbs.)
4. Reverse the removal procedure to install rotor.
