Operation CHARM: Car repair manuals for everyone.

Flow of Diagnosis

- If possible, the vehicle should be road tested to verify the customer concern.
- A large percentage of transaxle concerns are due to misadjusted or faulty components outside the transaxle, such as the clutch, the clutch hydraulic linkage or the shift linkage.
- Before and during the road test, be sure the clutch is functioning properly, the shift linkage is adjusted properly and the transaxle is filled to the proper level with lubricant.
- Diagnosis by Symptom Charts are a guide for correcting conditions related to manual transaxles. Vehicle conditions, possible sources and corrective actions are listed in the order they should be checked.
