Flow of Diagnosis

1. Verify the customer concern by operating the wiper and washer system.
2. Visually inspect for obvious signs of mechanical and/or electrical damage.

VISUAL INSPECTION CHART

Mechanical
- Binding wiper pivot arm(s)
- Plugged or damaged washer hoses and/or washer nozzle jet(s)
- Wiper mounting arm and pivot shaft improperly connected to wiper motor

Electrical
- Blown fuse:
- 20A WIPER
- 10A REAR WIPER
- Damaged wiper motor(s)
- Damaged washer pump(s)
- Damaged wire
- Damaged windshield wiper/washer switch
- Damaged rear window wiper/washer switch
- Loose or corroded connectors

3. If an obvious cause for an observed or reported malfunction is found, correct the cause (if possible) before proceeding to the next step.
4. If the fault is not visually evident, verify the symptom and refer to the Symptom Chart. Symptom Related Diagnostic Procedures
