Flow of Diagnosis
1. Verify the customer concern by operating the wiper and washer system.2. Visually inspect for obvious signs of mechanical and/or electrical damage.
VISUAL INSPECTION CHART
Mechanical
- Binding wiper pivot arm(s)
- Plugged or damaged washer hoses and/or washer nozzle jet(s)
- Wiper mounting arm and pivot shaft improperly connected to wiper motor
Electrical
- Blown fuse:
- 20A WIPER
- 10A REAR WIPER
- Damaged wiper motor(s)
- Damaged washer pump(s)
- Damaged wire
- Damaged windshield wiper/washer switch
- Damaged rear window wiper/washer switch
- Loose or corroded connectors
3. If an obvious cause for an observed or reported malfunction is found, correct the cause (if possible) before proceeding to the next step.
