Inside Rear View Power Mirror

AUTOMATIC DIMMING
The automatic dimming inside rear view mirror has the following characteristics:
- It will change from normal to non-glare when glare reaches the inside rear view mirror.
- The inside rear view mirror functions mainly at night with limited function at dusk or dawn.
- From non-glare, the inside rear view mirror will return to normal after a short delay. The delay starts when glare goes away, and prevents excessive changing of the inside rear view mirror as traffic moves behind and around the vehicle or on rolling hills and curves.
- The sensitivity of the inside rear view mirror is adjusted automatically.
- The automatic dimming inside rear view mirror measures the brightness of the light from the rear of the vehicle. It automatically makes a correction in the glare.
- The automatic dimming function of the inside rear view mirror may be turned on or off by pressing the MIRROR button. A small indicator lamp is located on the RH side of the button.
- Depressing and holding the MIRROR button for 3 seconds will darken the mirror. The automatic dimming function will stay on until the button is released and pressed again.

- There are two light sensors (photocells) in this inside rear view mirror.
- The sensor that detects rear glare is located on the LH side of the COMP/MIRROR ON/OFF switch.
- The second light sensor, which determines outside light level, is located on the back of the inside rear view mirror case.
- One important safety feature is that the mirror automatically locks in the normal state whenever the transmission is placed in REVERSE. This feature ensures a bright, clear view in the inside rear view mirror when backing up.
