Flatness

The following inspection procedures are for a cylinder head that is to be completely overhauled. For individual service operations use only the pertinent inspection procedure.





When a cylinder head is removed because of gasket leaks, check the flatness of the head gasket to make sure it conforms to specification using Straight Edge 303-D039 and Feeler Gauge 303-D027 or equivalent. Replace cylinder head if it is necessary to refinish the head gasket surface.
