Oil Pump: Service and Repair

REMOVAL











1. Remove valve covers, engine front cover, oil pan and oil pump screen cover and tube.
2. Remove timing chain.

3. Remove four bolts retaining oil pump to cylinder block. Remove oil pump.

INSTALLATION
1. Rotate inner rotor of oil pump to align with flats on crankshaft and install oil pump flush with cylinder block.
2. Install four retaining bolts and tighten to 8-12 Nm (71-106 inch lbs.).
3. Replace oil filter.
4. Install timing chain.
5. Install engine front cover, oil pan, oil pump screen cover and tube and valve covers.
6. Fill engine with clean Super Premium SAE 10W30 Motor Oil XO-10W30-QSP to specified level.
7. Start engine and check for leaks.
