Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview

Inspect the three way catalytic converters (TWC), exhaust inlet pipes and mufflers for cracked joints, broken welds and corrosion damage that would result in a leaking exhaust system. Inspect the clamps, brackets and insulators for cracks and stripped or badly corroded bolt threads. When clamp(s) are loosened and/or removed to replace a muffler or exhaust inlet pipe replace the clamp(s) if there is reasonable doubt that its service life is limited.
