CHECK ENGINE (MIL)
- The check engine (MIL) warning information is sent by the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) on the data communications link.
- This indicator cannot be dimmed.
- The indicator remains lit during prove out sequence and possibly for a short time after.
- If a condition is detected, the indicator lights continuously.
- No tone is sounded.
- The indicator goes out when the condition is resolved.
Refer to the Powertrain Management, if the MIL remains lit or is intermittent.
CHARGING SYSTEM
Charge system warning (battery symbol) is displayed when there is a concern in the charging system.
- This indicator cannot be dimmed.
- The indicator remains lit during prove-out sequence and possibly for a short time after.
- If a condition is detected, the indicator lights continuously.
- No tone is sounded.
- Indicator goes out when the concern is resolved.
LOW OIL PRESSURE
- if the oil pressure drops below the normal range, the low oil pressure warning (oil can symbol) lights continuously.
- When the oil pressure returns to normal, the warning goes out.
FAIL SAFE COOLING
When the fail safe cooling system senses engine overheating:
- the bars in the engine coolant temperature gauge rise above the normal range.
- the thermometer symbol flashes.
- a tone sounds every five seconds to alert the driver.
AIR SUSPENSION
CHECK AIR SUSPENSION warning is displayed when there is a concern in the air suspension system or circuitry.
- Warning will sound one tone and flash on and off for five seconds. Dimming will be overridden when flashing if less than discernible dimming level.
- This indicator cannot be dimmed while flashing.
- During prove-out sequence, a one-second tone is sounded.
- CHECK AIR SUSPENSION warning flashes for five seconds, then remains lit.
- When concern is resolved the warning stops.
TRUNK AJAR
This warning indicates that luggage compartment door is ajar or there is a concern in the luggage compartment door open warning lamp circuit.
- Warning will sound one tone and flash on and off for five seconds. Dimming will be overridden when flashing if less than discernible dimming level.
- This indicator cannot be dimmed while flashing.
- During prove out sequence, a one-second tone is sounded.
- TRUNK AJAR warning flashes for five seconds, then remains on.
- When luggage compartment door is closed or concern is resolved, the warning stops.
DOOR AJAR
This warning indicates that a front or rear door is ajar or there is a concern in the door open warning lamp circuit.
- Warning will sound one tone and flash on and off for five seconds. Dimming will be overridden when flashing if less than discernible dimming level.
- This indicator cannot be dimmed while flashing.
- During prove out sequence, a one-second tone is sounded.
- DOOR AJAR warning flashes for five seconds, then remains on.
- When the door is closed or concern is resolved, the warning stops.
LOW WASHER FLUID
LOW WASHER FLUID warning is present when windshield washer fluid level is below specified level or there is a concern in the windshield washer reservoir fluid level sensor.
- LOW WASHER FLUID warning flashes for five seconds, then remains on.
- Warning will sound one tone and flash LOW WASHER FLUID indicator on and off for five seconds. Dimming will be overridden when flashing if less than discernible dimming level.
- This indicator cannot be dimmed while flashing.
- During prove out sequence, a one-second tone is sounded.
- When the windshield washer fluid level is raised above specified level or the concern is resolved, the warning stops.
SAFETY BELT
Safety belt warning operates as follows:
- If driver safety belt is not fastened with ignition switch in RUN, the SAFETY BELT warning will illuminate steadily for approximately one minute.
- The safety belt warning chime in the lighting control module will also sound for approximately 6 (±2) seconds.
- If the driver fastens the safety belt while the safety belt warning is illuminated or lighting control module safety belt warning chime sounds, they will turn off immediately.
AIR BAG
AIR BAG warning is displayed when there is a concern in the air bag system.
HIGH BEAM
This indicator will be displayed when the high beam headlamps are on.
LH/RH Turn
These indicators will be flashing when activated by the multi-function switch . They also operate in a dual flashing mode as a hazard indicator in tandem with the electronic instrument cluster if ignition switch is in RUN, If ignition switch is in OFF, the electronic instrument cluster is off and only the hazard indicator in the indicator lamp module flashes.
OVERDRIVE OFF
NOTE: OVERDRIVE OFF warning will flash if there is a concern with the powertrain control module or electronic transmission (similar to CHECK ENGINE). Refer to Transaxle if this indicator is not operating properly.
OVERDRIVE OFF indicator lights when the transmission is locked out of OVERDRIVE. This is done by pressing the transmission control switch button in the end of the gearshift lever with ignition switch in RUN.
SPEED CONTROL
SPEED CONTROL indicator lights when the speed control system is engaged.
LOW FUEL
This indicator lamp (gas pump) comes on when the fuel gauge indicates approximately one-eighth of a tank. Ignition switch must be in RUN for this lamp to come on.
Transmission Range
Transmission range indicator lamp is lit with ignition switch in RUN. A circle around the symbol indicates transmission range selected.
