Underhood Lamp: Description and Operation

The engine compartment lamp is mounted near the center of the hood. The engine compartment lamp is standard equipment on the police and Natural Gas Vehicle (NGV) models only.

The engine compartment lamp housing contains a mercury switch that closes the lamp circuit when the hood is opened.
