Safety Belt With Anchor Plate Thread Damage
The seat and shoulder safety belts are factory-installed in their proper locations. If the belts are removed for any reason, they should be installed. The 7/16-inch x 20 TORX (R) head anchor bolts must be hand-started and then tightened to 34-46 N.m (25-33 Lb-Ft).1. Remove broken or stripped bolt and discard.
2. Drill out the internal threads in safety belt anchor plate with a 27/64-inch drill (shoulder belt 13/32-inch drill).
3. Rethread anchor plate with a 1/2-13 tap (safety belt).
4. Blow out the chips.
WARNING: EYE PROTECTION MUST BE WORN WHILE PERFORMING THIS PROCEDURE.
5. Install attachment parts in proper sequence. Tighten the replacement bolt to 34-46 N.m (25-33 Lb-Ft). Original parts are to be replaced with service parts indicated in the Parts Replacement Chart. Parts Replacement Chart
6. When servicing a multiple belt and attachment, install nut to the bolt in the tunnel area from the underside of the rear floor pan. Tighten to 34-46 N.m (25-33 Lb-Ft).
