Valve Spring: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Remove the valve tappets.





2. Remove the valve springs using a Valve Spring Compressor Set and a Valve Spring Compressor Adapter.
- Apply compressed air to the cylinders.
- Compress the valve springs and remove the valve locks.
- Remove the valve spring retainers and the valve springs.

INSTALLATION

NOTE: Check the seating of the valve locks.





1. Install the valve springs using a Valve Spring Compressor Set and a Valve Spring Compressor Adapter.
- Insert the valve springs and the valve spring retainers.
- Compress the valve springs and install the valve locks.
- Disconnect and remove the air supply.

2. Install the valve tappets.
