Flow of Diagnosis

1. Verify the customer concern by operating the reversing lamps.
2. Visually inspect for obvious signs of mechanical and electrical damage; review the following chart:

VISUAL INSPECTION CHART

Mechanical
^ Damaged Park/Neutral Position (PNP) switch (M/T).
^ Damaged Transmission Range (TR) sensor (A/T).

Electrical
^ Failed fuse(s)
^ Damaged wire harness
^ Loose or corroded connectors
^ Damaged reversing lamp

3. If the concern is not visually evident, determine the symptom and Symptom Related Diagnostic Procedures
