Component Tests and General Diagnostics





Relay-Four Pin
1. Remove the relay.
2. Using a jumper wire, connect one end to terminal 85 of relay. Connect the other end to ground.
3. Using a second jumper wire, connect one end to terminal 86 of relay.
4. Connect one lead of an ohmmeter to Terminal 87 of relay. Connect second lead to Terminal 30 of relay. Observe the resistance.
5. Momentarily tap unconnected end of second jumper wire to positive battery lead. An audible click should be heard and the resistance on ohmmeter should drop to zero.
6. If relay does not click and resistance does not drop to zero, REPLACE the relay.
