Catalytic Converter: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Raise and support the vehicle.





2. On vehicles equipped with manual transaxle, remove the secondary catalytic converter.
- Remove the four nuts.






3. On vehicles equipped with automatic transaxle remove the secondary catalytic converter.
- Remove the five nuts.

INSTALLATION

CAUTION: Never use jointing compound! forward of a secondary catalytic converter.






1. On vehicles equipped with manual transaxle,install the secondary catalytic converter.
- Install new nuts.


CAUTION: Never use jointing compound forward of a secondary catalytic converter.






2. On vehicles equipped with automatic transaxle,install the secondary catalytic converter.
- Install new nuts.

3. Lower the vehicle.
