ISSUE

The Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) may illuminate or blink continuously with various DTCs stored in memory. Customers may also report driveability concerns such as bucking, jerking, surging, running rough, misfire, rpm fluctuation no start and/or intermittent no start. These concerns may occur without MIL illumination. The A/C may also be inoperative. These conditions may be caused by the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) wire harness chafing against the RH rear engine lifting eye.

ACTION

Remove the RH engine lifting eye from every vehicle exhibiting MIL illuminated and Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) stored in memory, or driveability concerns confirmed to be caused by chafing of the -12A522- engine control harness at the rear lifting eye. Inspect the -12A522- engine control wire harness in the area of the RH lifting eye for chafing and repair as necessary. Refer to the Diagnostic and Service Procedures.
