Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview
1. Verify the customer's concern by operating the engine cooling system to duplicate the condition.2. Inspect to determine if one of the following mechanical or electrical concerns apply:
Mechanical
- Damage hoses.
- Loose/damage hose clamps.
- Damage water thermostat.
- Damage cylinder head gaskets.
- Damage intake manifold gasket.
- Damage water pump.
- Damage radiator.
- Damage degas bottle.
- Damage heater core.
Electrical
- Circuitry open/shorted.
- Damaged engine cooling fan motor, fan blade and fan shroud assembly.
3. If the concerns remain after the inspection, determine the symptoms and go to the Symptom Chart. Symptom Related Diagnostic Procedures
