Flow of Diagnosis

1. Verify the vehicle owner's concern by operating the lamp out indication system to duplicate the condition.
2. Inspect to determine if one of the mechanical or electrical concerns apply:

VISUAL INSPECTION CHART

Mechanical
- Check for loose connections.

Electrical
- Check fuse junction panel Fuse: 31 (5 A), 14 (5 A), 5 (5 A), 28 (15 A).
- Check harness connections for obvious damage, shorts or opens
- Check for burned out lamps.

3. If the inspection reveals obvious concern(s) that can be readily identified, service as required.
4. If the concern(s) remains after the inspection, determine the symptom(s) and go to the Symptom Chart. Symptom Related Diagnostic Procedures


NOTE: While taking measurements, do not touch metal probes. Doing so will cause incorrect readings.

The vehicle must be at room temperature for this check, between 16-30°C (61-86°F).

Make sure no additional lamps (such as trailer lamps or accessories) other than original equipment bulbs are in use.
