Engine Air Cleaner

REMOVAL
1. Disconnect engine control sensor wiring connector from Mass Air Flow sensor (MAF sensor) and Intake Air Temperature sensor (IAT sensor).
2. Loosen the engine air cleaner tube clamp and remove the air cleaner outlet tube from the mass air flow sensor.
3. Remove engine air cleaner retaining bolts at the air cleaner body.
4. Disconnect engine intake air resonator by pushing in top and bottom tube surfaces at engine Air Cleaner (ACL) and pulling engine air cleaner outward. Lift engine air cleaner up and out of engine compartment.
5. If required, remove mass air flow sensor and intake air temperature sensor (if equipped) from the air cleaner cover.

INSTALLATION
1. If removed, install mass air flow sensor and intake air temperature sensor.
2. Position engine air cleaner on battery tray and slide engine air cleaner locator button into vertical grommet at side of battery tray.
3. Insert engine intake air resonator into opening at side of air cleaner body until engine intake air resonator snaps into place.
4. Align engine air cleaner grommets with J-nut and install retaining bolts. Make sure that the engine air cleaner grommets are fully seated into the air cleaner body mounting tabs with metal side of grommets up. Tighten retaining bolts to 7-9 Nm (62-79 lb-in).
5. Install air cleaner outlet tube.
6. Connect engine control sensor wiring to mass air flow sensor and intake air temperature sensor.
