Suspension Control ( Automatic - Electronic ): Description and Operation
The semi-active ride control will adjust shock absorber damping as required by the driving situation. The system operates as follows:^ The semi-active ride control system is active with the ignition switch in the RUN position.
^ The electronically adjustable shock absorbers are normally set to the soft position.
^ The Semi-Active Ride Control (SARC) Module monitors suspension velocity.
^ Suspension velocity is determined by the two air suspension height sensors.
^ When suspension velocity reaches a predetermined threshold, the Semi-Active Ride Control (SARC) Module will shift the individual electronically adjustable shock absorbers to the "firm" position to restrict suspension motion.
^ The Semi-Active Ride Control (SARC) Module will also shift the electronically adjustable shock absorbers to the firm position based on suspension velocity to improve vehicle handling.
