Backup Lamp: Description and Operation

The backup lamp system consists of:
^ backup lamp bulb in the rear panel reflector.
^ transmission range sensor.
^ circuit wiring and circuit protection.
^ power is supplied to the Transmission Range (TR) sensor through instrument panel Fuse 6 (15 A) and Circuit 1087 (O). This fuse is hot in RUN.
^ with transaxle in REVERSE, the switch closes and power is provided to backup lamp bulbs through Circuit 140 (BK/PK).
^ ground is provided to the backup lamp bulbs through Circuit 57 (BK).
