Cross-Member: Service and Repair
REMOVAL1. Remove the rear stabilizer bar.
2. Remove the two rear brake hose support brackets and disconnect the hose.
3. Remove the 3-way connector bolt.
4. Remove the rear suspension alignment shims and bolts.
NOTE: Mark the alignment of both alignment shims prior to removal.
5. Position a (A) jack under the (B) rear floor cross member.
6. Remove the four rear floor crossmember bolts.
7. Remove the rear suspension arm and bushing front nut.
8. Remove the rear suspension arm and bushing (front) bolt and remove the rear suspension arm and bushing.
9. Lower the rear floor cross member and remove from the vehicle.
INSTALLATION
1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
NOTE:
^ Use High lift Transmission Jack to raise the spindle so that the suspension arms are parallel to the ground before tightening the bolts to the specified torque.
^ Check the rear alignment and adjust as necessary.
