Flow of Diagnosis

1 Verify the customer concern by operating the wiper and washer system.
2. Visually inspect for obvious signs of mechanical and/or electrical damage.

VISUAL INSPECTION CHART

Mechanical
^ Binding wiper pivot arm(s)
^ Plugged, damaged, or disconnected washer hoses and/or washer nozzle jet(s)
^ Wiper mounting arm and pivot shaft improperly connected to wiper motor
^ Wiper linkages

Electrical
^ Fuse
^ Windshield wiper motor
^ Windshield wiper pump motor
^ Circuit(s)
^ Multi-function switch
^ Loose or corroded connectors

3. If an obvious cause for an observed or reported malfunction is found, correct the cause (if possible) before proceeding to the next step.
4. If the concern is not visually evident, verify the symptom and refer to Symptom Chart.
