Wiper Switch: Service and Repair

NOTE:The windshield wiper/washer switch and the rear wiper/washer switch are replaced as an assembly.

REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION





1. Disconnect the batery ground cable and wait one minute for the air bag packup power supply to be depleted.





2. Remove the screws and the upper and lower steering column shrouds.





3. Remove the screws.





4. Disconnect the (A) electrical connectors and remove the (B) windshield wiper/washer switch.

INSTALLATION






1. To install, reverese the removal procedure.

NOTE: When the battery is disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the vehicle relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 16 km (10 mi) or more to relearn its strategy.
