System Flushing
1. Raise and support the vehicle.2. Remove the radiator splash shield.
3. Disconnect the fluid cooler line.
1 Disconnect and cap the fluid cooler line.
2 Connect a suitable length of hose to the fluid cooler.
^ Allow the fluid to drain into a suitable container.
4. Lower the vehicle.
Vehicles With 2.0L- Engine
5. Disconnect the Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor.
Vehicles With 2.5L Engine
6. Disconnect the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor.
All Vehicles
7. Fill the reservoir to the MAX mark.
8. While adding 1.9 liters (0.50 gallon) of fluid turn the ignition switch to the START position.
9. When all the fluid has been used, turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
10. Raise and support the vehicle.
11. Connect the fluid cooler line.
1 Remove the hose.
2 Remove the cap and connect the fluid cooler line.
12. Lower the vehicle.
Vehicles With 2.01L Engine
13. Connect the CKP sensor.
Vehicles With 2.51L Engine
14. Connect the CKP sensor.
All Vehicles
15. NOTE: When filling the reservoir, make sure the fluid is clean and not agitated prior to use. The fluid should be poured slowly into the reservoir to minimize the possibility of aeration.
Fill the reservoir to the MAX mark.
