ISSUE
Some vehicles may exhibit a no start condition when the wiper switch is in the Intermittent or Low-Speed setting during vehicle start-up. This no start condition does not occur if the wipers are set to OFF or High-Speed during vehicle start-up. This may be caused by the wiper motor wiring being routed too close to the Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS) module.
ACTION
Inspect wiper motor wire routing near PATS transceiver module. If the wire routing is close to the PATS transceiver module as shown in Figure 1, tie strap the wiring to the steering column as shown in Figure 2. Verify that vehicle starts with wiper motor set to Intermittent and Low-Speed. If vehicle does not start under these two conditions after moving the wire harness, replace wiper motor-17508- with F7RZ-1 7508-AA. Refer to the appropriate workshop manual for wiper motor replacement procedure.
