Antenna: Description and Operation

A fixed radio antenna base and cable is standard on sedan vehicles equipped with either base AM/FM stereo or AM/FM stereo cassette.

Automatic Electric Antenna
An optional automatic power electric antenna is available on Taurus wagons and Taurus and Sable sedans, but standard on Taurus SHO models.

The automatic power electric antenna:
- will extend when the radio receiver is turned ON with the ignition switch in the RUN or ACC position.
- will retract when the ignition switch is turned OFF even if the radio receiver is ON.
