Liftgate

REMOVAL
1. Before removing hinge-to-roof frame attachments at both liftgate hinges, use a felt marker or equivalent to mark the location of each liftgate hinge on roof frame being careful not to scratch paint.

NOTE: Liftgate removal and installation is a two-person operation.

2. Disconnect battery ground cable.
3. Open liftgate.
4. Remove rear corner upper finish panel.
5. Disconnect wiring loom connectors at top left and right D pillar posts.
6. Remove liftgate looms and rubber loom protectors from body.
7. Remove luggage compartment door hydraulic lifts.
8. Remove screw and nut retaining liftgate hinge to body.

NOTE: Do not remove Torx (R) head bolt and nut. They are used to locate the hinge to the body during installation.

9. Remove liftgate from vehicle.







INSTALLATION
1. Follow removal procedure in reverse order.
2. Position hinges to scribe marks on roof frame.
3. Tighten screw and nut to 25-35 Nm (19-25 lb-ft).
4. Install luggage compartment door hydraulic lift.
