Brake Light Switch: Description and Operation

The Brake Pedal Position (BPP):
- provides power to the rear stop amps and rear hi-mount lamp.
- provides a signal to various other systems including:
- anti-lock brake control module.
- Powertrain Control Module (PCM).
- shift lock actuator.
- speed control amplifier.
- lamp out module (if equipped).
- remote anti-theft personality module (if equipped with keyless entry).

Power is provided to the BPP:
- Through fuse junction panel Fuse 28, which is HOT AT ALL TIMES.
- On Circuit 10 (LG/R).

Ground to stoplamps is provided by Circuit 57 (BK).
