Courtesy Lamp: Description and Operation

The interior courtesy lamps are controlled by the Generic Electronic Module (GEM) and are activated by the interior lamp relay. The interior lamp relay coil is grounded by the GEM when:
- a door is opened.
- illuminated entry is requested from the Remote Anti-theft Personality (RAP) module.

The courtesy lamps will turn off if:
- ignition switch is turned to RUN.
- illuminated entry off request is received from the RAP module or after 25 seconds.

Panel Mounted
Interior lamps are:
- located at LH and RH sides of the instrument panel.
- illuminated when front doors are opened.
- illuminated when illuminated entry is activated.
