Lamp Out Indicator: Description and Operation

Lamp outage is sensed by measuring the change in voltage drop across a circuit path within the rear lamp circuit.

CAUTION: Do not hook up additional lamps (such as trailer tow lamps). Do not replace bulbs with any type different from original equipment. Doing so may result In a false warning or no warning.







The lamp out warning system consists of:
- lamp out warning module located in RH rear inner fender behind luggage compartment trim panel.
- warning indicator in the instrument cluster.

The system operates when the ignition switch is in ACC or RUN position and the headlamp switch is in the PARK or HEAD position.

Rear Lamp Out
The REAR LAMP OUT warning indicator monitors the functions of the following rear lamps:
- park lamps
- stoplamps
- hi-mount stoplamps
