Flow of Diagnosis

1. Verify the customer's concern by operating the active restraint system to duplicate the condition.
2. Inspect to determine if one of the following mechanical or electrical concerns apply:

Visual Inspection Chart

Mechanical
- Inspect safety belt webbing for integrity.

Electrical
- Open fuse.
- Bare, damaged or disconnected wire.
- Connector not tightly engaged.
- Safety belt warning indicator lamp burned out or damaged.

3. If inspection reveals obvious concern(s) that can be readily identified, service as required.
4. If the concern remains after the inspection, determine the symptoms and go to the Symptom Chart. Symptom Related Diagnostic Procedures
