Linkage Check

Entry of water or dust into the tie rod bellows will seriously affect the operation and durability of the steering gear, including the front wheel spindle tie rods.

CAUTION: Tie rod bellows must be handled carefully to avoid damage. Use new steering gear boot clamps when installing tie rod bellows.

Inspect tie rod bellows for cracks, cuts, deterioration, twisting or distortion. Check steering gear boot clamps to make sure they are tight. Replace tie rod bellows and steering gear boot clamps as required.
