1. Verify the customer concern.
2. Visually inspect for obvious signs of mechanical and electrical damage.

VISUAL INSPECTION CHART

Mechanical
- Damaged engine lubricating system
- Low engine oil level
- Damaged speedometer drive gear
- Damaged speedometer driven gear

Electrical
- Blown fuse
- Damaged miniature bulb
- Damaged wiring harness
- Loose or corroded connections
- Damaged vehicle speed sensor
- Damaged instrument cluster printed circuit

3. If the fault is not visually evident, verify the symptom and proceed to Symptom Chart. Symptom Related Diagnostic Procedures
