Principles of Operation

The Daytime Running Lamps (DRL) are ON under the following conditions:
^ Ignition switch is in the RUN position
^ Headlamp switch is in the OFF or PARK position

The DRL system is designed to turn the low beam headlamps ON at reduced intensity. The driver can disable the DRL system by any one of the following actions:
^ Turning the ignition switch to any position except RUN.
^ Turning the headlamp switch to any position except off.
