Front Fender: Service and Repair

FENDER

Removal
1. Remove the front bumper.







2. Remove the fender splash shield.
1 Remove the screws.
2 Remove the clips.

3. Remove the cowl grille.
4. Remove the headlamp assembly.







5. Detach the fender at the top.
- Loosen the hood hinge







6. Remove the seal.







7. Detach the fender at the side.







8. Detach the fender at the bottom and remove.

Installation

NOTE: The vehicle must be standing on level ground. The door must be fully closed with uniform clearances with the A-pillar, the quarter panel and the body rocker panel.







1. Install the fender.
- Install the fender and insert all the screws fingertight.
- Check and adjust the clearance and the edge alignment with the door (1.0 mm±1.0 mm).
- Tighten the rear upper screw.

2. Position the fender.
- Nip down the front screw on the edge of the fender apron panel.
- Close the hood carefully.
- Adjust the clearance between the fender and the hood, open the hood and tighten the front screw on the edge of the fender apron panel.
- Clearance between the fender and the hood:3.5 mm±1.0 mm.
- Clearance between the fender and the door:4.0 mm±1.0 mm.

- Adjust the edge alignment with the door.
- Tighten the screw in the A-pillar from the wheelhouse.
- Check the width of the clearance with the door and tighten the lower screw in the body rocker panel.







3. Tighten the upper screws.
- Check all the clearances and tighten the screws.







4. Tighten the hood hinge screws.







5. Tighten the side screws.







6. Tighten the lower screws.
7. Install the seal.
8. Install the headlamp assembly.
9. Install the cowl grille.







10. Adjust the hood bump stop rubbers (right-hand shown).







11. Install the fender splash shield.
1 Insert the screws.
2 Insert the clips.

12. Install the front bumper.
