Fuel Injector: Service and Repair

REMOVAL

WARNING: DO NOT SMOKE OR CARRY LIGHTED TOBACCO OR OPEN FLAME OF ANY TYPE WHEN WORKING ON OR NEAR ANY FUEL-RELATED COMPONENTS. HIGHLY FLAMMABLE MIXTURES ARE ALWAYS PRESENT AND MAY BE IGNITED. FAILURE TO FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS MAY RESULT IN PERSONAL INJURY.

1. Remove the supply manifold. For additional information, refer to Fuel Rail.







2. Remove the six injectors from the lower intake manifold.







3. Inspect the O-ring seals. Discard if damaged.

INSTALLATION
1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
^ Lubricate the new O-ring seals with clean Super Premium SAE 5W-30 Motor Oil XO-5W30-QSP or equivalent meeting Ford specification WSS-M2C153-G.
