MERCURY:
2001 COUGAR

ISSUE

Some 2001 Cougars may exhibit a "knocking" noise in the rear of the vehicle while going over bumps. This may be caused by an interference between the rear coil springs and the strut tower.

ACTION

Replace both rear coil springs with revised Spring (158Z-5560-BA) as instructed in the 2001 Cougar Workshop Manual, Section 204-02.
