Dashboard / Instrument Panel: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Remove the steering column.
2. Remove the floor console.
3. Remove the audio unit.







4. Remove the switch assembly.
1. Detach the switch assembly.
2. Disconnect the electrical connectors.







5. Detach the heater control/audio unit bezel.
1. Remove the screws.
2. Detach the bezel.







6. Remove the heater control/audio unit bezel.
- Disconnect the electrical connectors.
- Disconnect the vacuum lines.
7. Remove the exterior lamp switch and panel.







8. Lower the central junction box.
- Pull the lever and swing the central junction box down.
- Disconnect the wiring harness from the central junction box.







9. Disconnect the central junction box electrical connectors







10. Disconnect the wiring harness electrical connectors.







11. Disconnect the instrument interface module electrical connector.







12. Remove the liftgate release switch.
1. Detach the switch.
2. Disconnect the electrical connector.







13. Disconnect the data link connector.
1. Release the retaining clip.
2. Slide the data link connector down.







14. Remove the RH scuff panel.
1. Disconnect the scuff panel.
2. Remove the scuff panel.







15. Pull back the RH scuff panel insulation.







16. Disconnect the electrical connectors.
1. Disconnect the antenna cable connector.
2. Remove the ground strap bolt.
3. Disconnect the electrical connector(s).







17. Remove the ground strap bolt.
18. Remove the A-pillar trim panels.







19. Remove the center LR instrument panel bolts.
20. Remove the passenger air bag module.







21. Disconnect the following components (if equipped):
- Air conditioning door actuator motor electrical connector.
- Anti-theft module electrical connector.
- Heater blower motor electrical connector.
- Heater blower motor resistor electrical connector.







22. Disconnect the ground strap boils and the power seat relay electrical connector (if equipped).







23. Remove the centre RH instrument panel bolts.







24. Remove the LH and RH instrument panel bolts.

NOTE: RH shown, LH similar.







25. Detach the instrument panel to access and disconnect the defroster tubes.







26. Remove the instrument panel







27. Disconnect the relay support bracket.







28. Remove the heater/evaporator assembly trim panel.
1. Remove the screw covers.
2. Remove the screws.







29. Remove the instrument panel support bracket.
1. Remove the bolt.
2. Remove the nut.
3. Remove the bracket.







30. Disconnect the heater/evaporator assembly from the cross-vehicle beam.







31. Remove (he cross-vehicle beam.
1. Remove the instrument panel support bolts.
2. Remove the support.
- Cut the bonding agent as required.

INSTALLATION
1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
