Torque
LH Cylinder HeadNOTE: Tighten the bolts in the indicated tightening sequence in six stages.
Position the left-hand cylinder head and install new cylinder head bolts and washers.
- Stage 1: Tighten to 40 Nm
- Stage 2: Tighten 90 degrees.
- Stage 3: Loosen 360 degrees (one full turn) in reverse order.
- Stage 4: Tighten to 40 Nm.
- Stage 5: Tighten 90 degrees.
- Stage 6: Tighten 90 degrees.
RH Cylinder Head
NOTE: Tighten the bolts in the indicated sequence in six stages. Position the right-hand cylinder head and install new cylinder head bolts with washers.
- Stage 1: Tighten to 40 Nm.
- Stage 2: Tighten 90 degrees.
- Stage 3: Loosen 360 degrees in reverse sequence.
- Stage 4: Tighten to 40 Nm.
- Stage 5: Tighten 90 degrees.
- Stage 6: Tighten 90 degrees.
LH Camshaft Cap Bolts
CAUTION: Do not install the left-hand cylinder head camshaft journal thrust caps until the camshaft journal caps are installed or damage to the thrust caps may occur.
NOTE: With left-hand cylinder head roller finger followers installed, align camshaft end play using thrust caps as a guide before tightening the journal caps.
Tighten the left-hand camshaft cap bolts in the indicated sequence in several passes to 10 Nm.
RH Camshaft Cap Bolts
CAUTION: Do not install the right-hand cylinder head camshaft journal thrust caps until the camshaft journal caps are installed, or damage to the thrust caps may occur.
NOTE: With right-hand cylinder head roller finger followers installed, align camshaft end play using the thrust caps as a guide before tightening journal caps.
Tighten the right-hand camshaft cap bolts in the indicated sequence in several passes to 10 Nm.
Upper Intake Manifold
Tighten fasteners in sequence to 10 Nm.
Lower Intake Manifold
Tighten fasteners in sequence to 10 Nm.
LH Exhaust Manifold
Tighten in sequence to 20 Nm.
RH Exhaust Manifold
Tighten in sequence to 20 Nm.
