Torque
LH Cylinder HeadNOTE: It will be necessary to support the number eight bolt. Support the bolt in the cylinder head so it does not contact the block during installation with a rubber band or a piece of tape.
Install the LH cylinder head.
Install ten bolts and tighten in sequence in six stages:
^ Stage 1: Tighten to 37 - 43 Nm (28 - 31 ft. lbs.).
^ Stage 2: Tighten an additional 85-95°.
^ Stage 3: Loosen the bolts a minimum of one full turn, 360°.
^ Stage 4: Tighten to 37 - 43 Nm (28 - 31 ft. lbs.).
^ Stage 5: Tighten an additional 85 - 95°.
^ Stage 6: Tighten an additional 85 - 95°.
RH Cylinder Head
Install the bolts and tighten in sequence in six steps:
^ Step 1: Tighten to 37 - 43 Nm (28 - 31 ft. lbs.).
^ Step 2: Tighten an additional 85-95°.
^ Step 3: Loosen the bolts a minimum of one full turn (360°).
^ Step 4: Tighten to 37 - 43 Nm (28 - 31 ft. lbs.).
^ Step 5: Tighten an additional 85 - 95°.
^ Step 6: Tighten an additional 85 - 95°.
Camshaft Bearing Cap Bolts
Tighten in sequence to 8-12 Nm (71.4-107.1 in.lb).
Camshaft Sprocket
Install the camshaft sprocket spacer.
1 Position the camshaft sprocket and sprocket spacer.
2 Install the bolt.
Intake Manifold (Gasoline Vehicle)
Tighten in sequence to 20-30 Nm (15-22 ft.lb).
Intake Manifold (Natural Gas Vehicle)
Tighten in sequence to 25 Nm (18 ft.lb).
Exhaust Manifold
Tighten in sequence to 23-27 Nm (17-20 ft.lb).
