Exterior Lighting

The exterior lighting system consists of the following components:
^ headlamp assemblies
^ rear lamp assemblies
^ reversing lamps
^ license lamps
^ cornering lamps
^ side marker lamps
^ high mounted stoplamp
^ light sensor amplifier (if equipped) (located under the defroster grille panel on the LH side of the I/P)
^ multifunction switch
^ headlamp switch
^ Brake Pedal Position (BPP) switch
^ Lighting Control Module (LCM) (located behind the instrument panel lower insulator)

Lighting Control Module (LCM)
The LCM eliminates the electronic interference and heat associated with the thermoelectric devices used previously. The LCM is a microprocessor- based module that controls several vehicle subsystems. It responds to electrical input signals from various switches, sensors, and external modules.

LCM subsystem functions include:
^ headlamps with autolamps
^ turn signal lamps/hazard flasher lamps
^ cornering lamps
^ parking lamps
^ courtesy lamps
^ demand lamps
^ battery saver
^ backlighting
