Stabilizer Bar and Connecting Link - Wagon

Stabilizer Bar and Connecting Link-Wagon

Removal and Installation

CAUTION: Suspension fasteners are critical parts because they affect performance of vital components and systems and their failure can result in major service expense. A new part with the same part number must be installed if installation is necessary. Do not use a new part of lesser quality or substitute design. Torque values must be used as specified to make sure of correct retention of these parts.

NOTE: Both sides of the stabilizer bar and link must be removed and installed. Only one side is shown.

1. Raise the vehicle on a hoist.
2. Position jack stands under the lower control arm and raise the suspension so the load on the stabilizer bar link and bushing and the stabilizer bar bracket is neutralized.

3. Remove and discard the bolts and flag nuts. Detach the stabilizer bar bracket.

4. Remove and discard the nuts and Rag bolts. Remove the stabilizer bar and links as an assembly.

5. Remove the stabilizer bar brackets.

6. Remove the stabilizer bar links.

7. NOTE: The stabilizer bar must be installed with the color code on the RH side of the vehicle.

To install, reverse the removal procedure.
^ If the stabilizer bar links or brackets are to be reinstalled, use a suitable bottle brush to remove any dirt or paint build-up and rinse well with water.
