Torsion Bar Loading

WARNING: USE CARE WHEN ADJUSTING THE UPPER LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT LID HINGE TORSION BAR OR LOWER LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT LID HINGE TORSION BAR AS IT IS UNDER TENSION AND COULD SPRING OUT OF CONTROL IF NOT HANDLED PROPERLY.

NOTE: The luggage compartment lid tension should be decreased if the luggage compartment lid opens with more force than desired. The luggage compartment lid tension should be increased if the luggage compartment lid opens with less force than desired.







1. Release the luggage compartment lid and note the opening distance. The luggage compartment lid should open approximately 15-30 cm (6-11 inches).
2. Open and support the luggage compartment lid in the full-open position.







3. Move the luggage compartment lid hinge torsion bar to another position as necessary.

CAUTION: Do not close the luggage compartment lid with the torsion bars partially disconnected. The torsion bar will be forced against the luggage compartment hinge assembly and damage the hinge.

4. Check and readjust the luggage compartment lid torsion bar as necessary.
