Removal

CAUTION: The interior rear view mirror is of the breakaway design. Excessive force in any direction may cause damage to the mirror or windshield.

1. If equipped, disconnect the electrical connector and position wire harness aside.







2. CAUTION: Twisting the interior rear view mirror base from right to left while supporting the mirror with one hand against the windshield may also result in mirror removal, but may cause a stress fracture of the windshield, depending on the age of the windshield.

Insert a suitable tool into the slot at the base of the interior rear view mirror. Hold the interior rear view mirror and pull the tool downward and rearward until the interior rear view mirror snaps away from the interior rear view mirror bracket.

Installation







1. Using the special tool, firmly slide the interior rear view mirror onto the interior rear view mirror bracket until it engages. There should be an audible click when the interior rear view mirror spring clip engages with the mirror bracket.
2. If equipped, connect the electrical connector and place the wire harness clip into the slot at the top of the interior rear view mirror base.
