Normal Operation
The exterior mirror control switch is supplied voltage from the central junction box (CJB) through circuit 1523 (DG) and grounds through circuit 57 (BK). The exterior mirror control switch activates the LH exterior mirror up and down positions by switching voltage and ground on circuits 940 (DB/OG) and 945 (YE/BK). The exterior mirror control switch activates the LH exterior mirror left and right positions by switching voltage and ground on circuits 942 (RD/OG) and 945 (YE/BK). The exterior mirror control switch activates the RH exterior mirror up and down positions by switching voltage and ground on circuits 943 (VT/OG) and 945 (YE/BK). The exterior mirror control switch activates the RH exterior mirror left and right positions by switching voltage and ground on circuits 944 (DG/OG) and 945 (YE/BK). The exterior mirror control switch must be in the appropriate (left or right) position for the desired mirror to operate.
Possible Causes
- fuse
- circuit 57 (BK) open
- circuit 940 (DB/OG) short to ground
- circuit 942 (RD/OG) short to ground
- circuit 943 (VT/OG) short to ground
- circuit 944 (DG/OG) short to ground
- circuit 945 (YE/BK) open or short to ground
- circuit 1523 (DG) open
- exterior mirror control switch
