Cylinder Head Assembly: Specifications

Cylinder Head Bolts

The cylinder head bolts are torque-to-yield and must not be reused. New cylinder head bolts must be installed.

First pass 7 Nm (62 inch lbs.)
Second pass 15 Nm (11 ft. lbs.)
Third pass 45 Nm (33 ft. lbs.)
Fourth pass tighten 90°
Final pass tighten 90°

Intake manifold bolts 18 Nm (13 ft. lbs.).

There are 2 different size bolts used. Mark the location of the bolts to make sure they are installed in their original locations.





Camshaft bearing cap bolts
First pass finger tight
Second pass 7 Nm (62 inch lbs.).
Final pass 16 Nm (12 ft. lbs.)

Camshaft sprocket bolts 72 Nm (53 ft. lbs.)





Discard the 7 studs and nuts.

Exhaust manifold studs 17 Nm (13 ft. lbs.).

Final pass 55 Nm (41 ft. lbs.)
