STEERING GRUNT NOISE ON LEFT HAND TURNS

ISSUE
Some 2006-2007 Fusion and Milan vehicles equipped with a 2.3L engine may exhibit a steering grunt noise on left hand turns.
ACTION
Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition by replacing the power steering return line.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
1. Replace the power steering return line with a revised part using Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 211-02.
2. The new line has a revised holding bracket with an anti-rotation tab that needs to be properly located in a hole. (Figure 1)
3. Once the line has been installed, purge and fill the system using MERCON� Multi-Purpose Automatic Transmission fluid, XT-2-QDX, to ensure it is at the proper level using the procedure outlined in WSM, Section 211-00.
