Normal Operation
Under normal operation, the exterior mirror control switch receives power from circuit SBP15 (WH/RD) and ground from circuit GD126 (BK/WH). The exterior mirror control switch sends input to the driver seat module (DSM) for the LH exterior mirror by switching power and ground to circuits CPM16 (BN/BU), CPM17 (BU/GN) and CPM23 (GY) and for the RH exterior mirror by switching power and ground to circuits CPM20 (BN/WH), CPM21 (YE/VT) and CPM23 (GY). The DSM will then send the appropriate power and ground for the LH exterior mirror motor DOWN/UP circuits CPM29 (GN), CPM26 (WH) and RIGHT/LEFT circuits CPM28 (BU/BN) and CPM27 (GY/BU) or the RH exterior mirror motor DOWN/UP circuits CPM34 (WH/BN), CPM31 (YE/GY) and RIGHT/LEFT circuits CPM32 (WH/BU) and CPM33 (WH/VT).
Possible Causes
- An open, short to voltage or short to ground in circuits: CPM21 (YE/VT), CPM16 (BN/BU), CPM23 (GY), CPM20 (BN/WH), CPM17 (BU/GN), CPM32 (WH/BU), CPM33 (WH/VT), CPM34 (WH/BN), CPM31 (YE/GY), CPM27 (GY/BU), CPM28 (BU/BN), CPM29 (GN) or CPM26 (WH)
- Open in circuit SBP15 (WH/RD)
- Open in circuit GD126 (BK/WH)
- Inoperative DSM
- Inoperative exterior mirror control switch
- Inoperative exterior mirror
