Driver Seat Module - Memory Seat
NOTE:
- The memory seat track position sensors are integral to the memory seat track motors. The memory seat track motor electrical connectors will connect to a seat track without the memory option. Make sure the correct seat track is being installed.
The power driver seat, power outside rear view mirrors and power adjustable pedals are controlled by the driver seat module (DSM) only when the vehicle is equipped with the programmable/recall memory option. The DSM is located underneath the driver seat cushion.
- During reflash, if the flash operation fails, disconnect the battery for 30 seconds, then reconnect the battery and continue.
This system allows automatic positioning of the driver seat to 2 programmable positions.
- A power driver seat position can be stored at any time. The driver must move the seat to the desired position using the driver seat switch assembly. The driver must then depress the memory SET switch which activates the memory SET switch light emitting diode (LED). Within 5 seconds (before the LED goes out), the driver must select a memory position. Memory 1 is selected by depressing memory switch 1. Memory 2 is selected by depressing memory switch 2.
- If no memory switch input is received within the 5-second time limit, the operation is aborted and the memory SET switch LED is turned off. This also occurs if one of the following inputs is received during the 5-second programming limit:
- Power driver seat switch
- Memory SET switch
- Power adjustable pedal switch
A position can only be recalled when the transmission selector is in PARK or NEUTRAL. A position may be programmed at any time.
Heated Seats
This system allows the electrical heating of the front seats on passenger demand.
The components of the system are:
- the seat heating elements located in the seat cushion and backrest.
- the heated seat module located on the seat cushion pan.
- the heated seat control switch, located on the electronic automatic temperature control (EATC) module.
- the temperature sensor, located in the seat cushion heating element.
Occupant Classification Sensor (OCS)
The occupant classification sensor (OCS) is standard equipment on all front passenger seats.
Second Row Seating
Five Hundred and Montego
These seats have a 60/40 split backrest. The 60 percent has a fold down armrest. Each backrest is held in place at the top with its own striker attached to the package tray sheet metal and a latch attached to each backrest frame.
Freestyle
There are 2 seating options for the second row: a 60/40 or a 40/40. All seats will fold forward to ease entry to the third row of seating. Each configuration's backrests will recline and fold flat. The 40/40 seats have an optional adjustable seat track in place of the stationary riser.
Third Row Seating
There are 2 seating options for the third row; a bench seat or 50/50 split bench seat is available. Both seats will fold flat into the floor, forming a load floor for carrying cargo.
